Frequently Asked Questions?

Q.  How Much Do You Charge?

A.  Consultation is required prior to giving an exact cost, as I need to see the current thickness of your own natural hair, in order to advise on whether you need a Standard Full Head or Standard EXTRA.  Tape & Weave fittings usually take between 1-2 hours and single bond fittings usually take between 2-4 hours.  For a price "guide" click here.

Q.  Does Your Prices Include Fitting?

A.  Yes. All prices shown on the Price Guide page includes fitting.

Q.  What Hair Do You Use?

A.  100% Human, High Grade Remy hair, cuticle correct. The hair is also double drawn, which means that it is lovely and thick from root to tip. If you want to know more about Remy hair click here.

Q.  How Long Does The Hair Last For?

A.  The hair can up to 12-18 months following the correct aftercare. I only use 100% human, cuticle correct, high grade remy.  The hair can be re-used many times, maintenance is usually required every 5-7 weeks. For full aftercare instructions click here.

Q.  Do You Stock Hair Extensions?

A.  No, the hair is ordered in from my supplier for each individual once price and fitting has been agreed, and deposit paid. Samples of hair are available to view at consultation.

Q.  Do You Stock Aftercare Products?

A.  Yes.  I stock many aftercare products, such as: Leave In Protein Spray, Hair Extension Shampoo, Hair Extension Conditioner, Argan Oil & Hair Extension Boost, which are available for clients to purchase.

Q.  What Length's Can You Supply?

A.  I can offer a variety of different lengths up to 26 inches!  For a length guide click here.

Q.  Can I Dye My Hair Extensions?

A.  Your hair extensions can be dyed, however it is not recommended as the chemicals can shorten the lifespan of the hair, and these days it is not always necessary due to the huge colour range available to you.

Q.  Is My Hair Too Short For Extensions?

A.  I have clients who have short hair and as long as your natural hair is at least 4-5 inches in length, then yes it is absolutely possible for you to wear extensions.

Q.  Is My Hair Too Fine For Extensions?

A.  The Tape In method is an ideal choice for those with finer hair.  There is far less tension on your own natural hair, as more of your hair is used in each section.  This method allows your natural hair to continue to grow safely, and as long as you follow my aftercare instructions, you will have zero damage to your natural hair.

Q.  Im Pregnant, Can I Still Wear Tape Hair Extensions?

A.  I am reluctant to fit extensions on women who are pregnant, and also who are 6 months post birth.  Hormonal levels rise and fall during pregnancy which can have an adverse effect on the hair. Following birth some women can experience post pregnancy shedding, this is a completely natural process and although it can be distressing it will return to normal. Applying extensions in a woman who has recently given birth can accelerate the shedding process.

Q.  I Have Recently Received Chemo/Radio Therapy Treatment, Can I Still Wear Tape Extensions?

A.  It is recommended that you allow at least 6-9 months from the date of your last treatment before applying hair extensions, as the hair is still fragile and the scalp will be very sensitive. During chemotherapy or after treatment has ended, hair may start to grow. However, the time it takes to grow back varies from person to person. Many people may see hair growth 4 to 6 weeks after the end of their treatments. However, it may be a different texture or possibly a different colour than it was before treatment when hair does grow back.  Post treatment tips:

  • use a gentle & mild shampoo or conditioner that is free of harsh sulfates while hair begins to regrow.

  • hold off on chemical processes like perms or hair color for the first six months’ post chemotherapy

  • avoid using a hairdryer or thermal styling tools such as straightening irons.

Q.  I Suffer With Psoriasis, Can I Wear Hair Extensions?

A.  Unfortunately, I will not fit hair extensions to anyone suffering with moderate to severe psoriasis.  Any type of hair extension, whether it be tape, single bonds or wefts are likely to irritate the scalp and worsen the condition.  Also most psoriasis sufferers require ongoing oil treatments, and these treatments will loosen the bonds, causing the extensions to fall out.  If the client obtains written confirmation from a GP that they're scalp is in a suitable condition for hair extensions and that they no longer require treatment, then I may consider applying them.

Q.  How Often Can I Wash My Hair Extensions?

A.  Firstly, it is important to note that when you do wash your hair extensions, you only use Hair Extension Shampoo & Conditioner, which do not contain harmful chemicals, as many everyday high street products can damage your extensions. It is recommended that you wash them no more than 2-3 times per week, to remove any build up of product. Hair extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp like your own hair, therefore they do not need to be washed as often.  If your natural hair requires every day washing, then I recommend you invest in a bottle of dry shampoo! Which will keep your hair looking clean and fresh in-between washes.  For further instructions on how to correctly wash hair extensions click here.

Q.  How Often Should I Have My Maintenance?

A.  Maintenance is important when wearing any type of hair extension. Maintenance is usually required every 5-7 weeks (each individual may vary). At each appointment your hair is safely removed and re-positioned. Depending on the method and how many grams of hair you have, maintenance usually takes between 1-2 hours.

Q.  Someone Else Fitted My Hair Extensions, Can You Remove Them?

A.  Yes, I am happy to help.  I can remove most methods safely. However a consultation is necessary first in order for me to assess the current condition of your extensions and your natural hair.

Q.  Will I Lose Some Of My Extensions?

A.  The tape wefts are very strong and safe, and your extensions should stay put until your next maintenance.  There is however a possibility of losing a couple over time, but only due to excessive washing, drying, heat styling, brushing and sweating, etc.  The bonded method is again very secure, however over duration it is quite normal to lose a few. If you should lose any extensions prior to your maintenance, I will of course put them back in for you, or alternatively, keep them safe ready for your next maintenance appointment. Q. Will I Experience Any After Effects Following My Hair Extension Installation?

A.  If you are new to wearing hair extensions, then you may experience some itchiness for a short period of time.  This is completely normal, and should subside after a week or two.

Q.  What Do You Charge For A Consultation?

A.  Consultation is FREE, and your appointment will last for approx 20 mins.  At consultation I will assess the current condition of your natural hair, to ensure that it is safe for you to wear hair extensions.  I will also colour match your hair to the extensions and discuss your desired result, i.e length, volume, style.  If you are considering dying your hair, please do so at least 1-2 weeks prior to your consultation. Please be assured that your consultation will be held in a room with complete privacy.

Q.  Are You Qualified?
